There are many reasons, starting with high rent costs…
Please explain further.
The shop is in a somewhat peripheral location, opposite the trade fair, in a non-tourist area with a potential clientele that is not high spenders. Or at any rate a clientele that is difficult to retain: in the area there are several companies, some professional orders, a bank with its own canteen. For the rest it is a residential area, a bit ‘in-between’, we might say. It has nothing to do with Verona centre.
