Giuseppe Caprotti, born in Milan on 15 December 1960, is an Italian entrepreneur known for his role in large-scale retailing. Son of Bernardo Caprotti, co-founder of Esselunga, Giuseppe has contributed significantly to the development of the family business.
After graduating in Contemporary History from the Sorbonne in Paris in 1986, with a thesis on the political and economic situation in Alto Adige published by Franco Angeli, Giuseppe embarked on a career in the large-scale retail sector. He held various roles in Esselunga, from warehouse worker to manager, and finally became an entrepreneur and consultant.
In 2004, after a period of collaboration with his father, Giuseppe was dismissed from the company. Subsequently, he assumed the presidency of the Guido Venosta Foundation, which is involved in social, health and cultural projects.
In 2023, he published the book “Le Ossa dei Caprotti”, published by Feltrinelli, in which he retraces the history of his family and of the Esselunga company, offering a personal perspective on entrepreneurial and family events.
