Brussels could take legal action against the US at the World Trade Organisation if it found the allegations to be unfounded. The US rarely respects WTO rulings, but a ruling in Brussels’ favour would allow them to take retaliatory measures.

“The US accusations of dumping are unacceptable and functional to Trump’s plan to move production to the US,” said Coldiretti president Ettore Prandini.
