Nestlé’s sales growth forecast for 2024 – after two cuts – fell to 2%. Emerging markets are not what they used to be. Products have reached a reasonable penetration and local brands are increasingly formidable competitors. In fact, Nestlé’s sales growth in emerging markets, at almost 12 per cent in 2012, will drop to around 4 per cent this year.
