Aunt Diana, grandmother Luisa’s third daughter from her second marriage to Niccolò Theodoli (and therefore half-sister to my mother Giorgina Venosta and uncle Beppe), is about ten years older than me. After her marriage to Marcello Pallini, she moved to Tuscany, where she distinguished herself as an agricultural entrepreneur and public figure, so much so that in 2011 she was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro.

After holding various roles in Confagricoltura at provincial, regional and national level, she has been president of the Lazio Delegation of AIDDA Ets (Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Executives) for several years, and is involved in agriculture and specifically dairy cow breeding, running several companies and her own.

She was a bridesmaid at my mother’s wedding, and evidently liked holding me in her arms, albeit with some hesitation.
