When they were able to go on holiday, the other uncles also took part in the games on the beach at Forte dei Marmi. This picture is perhaps one of the most precious because it shows me together with my father’s two younger brothers, Guido, the second son, now balding like him, and Claudio, the third son, much younger than the other two, who almost looks like a boy compared to Uncle Guido.
I can add about Claudio Caprotti that his grandmother Marianne Maire in a letter dated 7 February 1974 wrote to her lawyer: “Claudio was born because Peppino wanted a little girl and I will tell you moreover that, perhaps, that moment was one of the happiest in our life together.”
From the correspondence, which I received from the Angeloni family – whom I thank – after the publication of my book, it is clear that Nando Angeloni was not his grandmother’s lover, something my father and Uncle Guido had accused her of.
