“I spent those years at Esselunga, and this interview has brought back those emotions, anxieties, fears and happy moments. Dr Giuseppe (as we always called him at the company) was a guiding light and a role model for us young recruits.
I’d like to highlight the professional, human and moral depth of the man who represented the future. A motivator, a natural coach to whom, following the publication of his book, I feel even more connected.

Fabio Bellerè joined Esselunga in January 2000, like so many brilliant young people, in the role I had created – drawing on my experience at Dominick’s in Chicago – as an assistant buyer.
Following the revocation of my powers as managing director, he continued his career with other retail groups.
