“Le Ossa dei Caprotti”: the difference between journalistic reporting and history

In my view, the difference between journalism, political non-fiction and history lies in the research, which, in the case of history, is much more in-depth and is based, first and foremost, on the study of documents and archives. But the added value of this book also lies in the contributions from people who worked for or were close to Esselunga, a company with a much broader entrepreneurial spirit than one might think

About my ouster from Esselunga, from Il Foglio of 25 August 2025

Giuseppe Caprotti, Bernardo Caprotti’s son, brutally ousted by his father while he was at the helm of Esselunga and marginalised by his stepmother Giuliana, the main heir together with his daughter Marina, has written his book-truth: “Le Ossa dei Caprotti”, published in 2023 by Feltrinelli… Stefano Cingolani, Il Foglio

From the 7 September 2025 episode of PresaDiretta

Everything was already written in the will: Giuseppe and his sister Violetta, children of the first marriage, are not universal heirs but legatees, with a heavy tax burden on them. A family and entrepreneurial story narrated in the book Le Ossa dei Caprotti (Feltrinelli, 2023), which tells the story of a great enterprise between economic successes and personal entanglements

According to Google, Bernardo Caprotti has no children. And the Corriere della sera does not help

For Google, My mother Giorgina Venosta still does not exist and Wikipedia has deleted the page on Guido Venosta, creator of the Italian Association for Cancer Research. The picture is completed by the Corriere della Sera – national edition – which, for example, after deleting me in 2020, is one of the few Italian newspapers not to have reviewed my book, Le Ossa dei Caprotti
